Kester Ogualili, Gov Zulum’s Anambra-born Aide, Dies in Maiduguri | METROWATCH

Special Adviser to Governor Zulum on community relations Kester Ogualili is dead. He died yesterday at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) where he was rushed to before his demise.
The deceased, who hailed from Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra, lived most of his life in Borno.
Before his appointment in 2011 as SA Community Relations to  former Governor Kashim Shettima, now vice-president, he had worked at the Zenith Bank Plc where he spent most of his professional years before coming into active partisan politics.
He was retained in 2019 by Governor Zulum and reappointed when he secured his second term in office.
In a condolence message released by his Senior Special Assistant on New Media, Abdurrahman Ahmed Bindi, on Saturday, Zulum expressed shock over the incident.

“I am saddened by the passing of Hon Kester Ogualili; he has served the people of Borno diligently for many years. Hon. Kester was a promoter of peace and a good ambassador of the Igbo community in Borno,” Zulum said.

“We will continue to remember his role serving as a bridge to foster peaceful co-existence among the residents.”

The Governor prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased and for the family the fortitude to bear the loss.

The Governor extended his condolence to Ogualili associates and Zenith Bank plc, where the deceased worked for many years.

SA to the Governor on publicity, Chief Lanre Obadiah, described his colleague, the late Keste,r as an amiable, considerate, jovial and easy going gentleman.
“He was also one of our longest serving special advisers, a position he had held since 2011.
“May God grant his gentle departed soul eternal rest in the bosom of our Lord.” said  Chief Lanre Obadiah.
The late Kester was survived by a wife, Ifeoma and children.
