The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has directed all its candidates contesting the 2027 general elections not to travel outside Nigeria until after the elections.
The party’s state chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, issued the directive on Friday during the inauguration of the APC campaign council at the party secretariat in Ikeja.
Ojelabi urged the candidates to cooperate with the campaign council and remain available for campaign activities across the state.
“No candidate is allowed to travel out of the country until after the elections,” he said.
He also urged party members to work with the campaign structure across senatorial districts and local government areas as preparations for the election intensify.
Ojelabi said the party would focus on grassroots engagement and called on members to conduct their activities peacefully and within the law.
The APC inaugurated a 1,235-member campaign council ahead of the 2027 elections, with former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, serving as Director-General.
The party’s governorship candidate, Obafemi Hamzat, also urged members to base their campaign on issues and the record of the APC-led governments at the federal and state levels.
The inauguration marked the beginning of the party’s campaign preparations in Lagos ahead of the 2027 general elections.
