The Amuwo Odofin Policing Youth Vangaurd (AOPYV) that was set up by the Area ‘E’ Commander, ACP Dan Okoro, is in the news again; as usual from the negative side of life.
According to the Coordinator of Neigbourhood Watchers in the Local Government, Chief P.S.K. Oboh, the AOPYV was seen attacking council officials, Neighbourhood Watchers of Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area and also terrorizing passers-bye and traders on Wednesday at Alakija in Amuwo Odofin Local Government.

Narrating the ordeal of his men to journalists, Oboh revealed that “Some of my men were performing their lawful duty at Alakija, when some members of the Amuwo Odofin Policing Youth Vanguard that was set up by the Area ‘E’ Commander, ACP Dan Okoro , came to attack us with dangerous weapons . This is really uncalled for”
He further stressed that “what baffled me the most is that the police attached to Festac Police Station were just watching the drama, refusing to give us protection.”
The Chairman of Amuwo Odofin Local Government, Comrade Ayodele Adewale when contacted on phone stated that the Local Government would not give in to hoodlums, and once again reiterated his stand that the Community Policing Youth Vanguard set up by Area ‘E’ Commander, ACP Dan Okoro, should be banned before hell is let loose in the local government.

It will be recalled that the same group also damaged and vandalized local government projects’ sign posts during the March 2014, environmental sanitation.
