Former presidential aide, Laolu Akande, has criticised former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, over their approach to challenging President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Akande argued that opposition leaders appeared more focused on removing Tinubu from office than presenting clear policy alternatives to Nigerians.

He said the opposition needed to offer a convincing political and governance agenda rather than centre its activities on defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Akande also maintained that the APC was better organised than the opposition coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.

He made the remarks while discussing the political realignments and preparations for the next general elections.
