The Adamawa State House of Assembly has appealed to Governor Bala James Ngilari to pay WAEC/NECO fees for the Internally Displaced Students in the state.
The Chairman House Committee on information and member representing Michika constituency Hon. Adamu Kamale moved the motion on that effects on the floor of the House during Monday’s plenary session.
Kamale noted that because of the deplorable conditions of the Internal Displaced Students, it became expedient for the state government to assist them by paying this year’s examination fee for NECO and WAEC.
He lamented that the havoc and destructions occasioned by the Boko Haram insurgents in some parts of the state have leaved the people in the affected with nothing and can not cater for themselves not to talk about asking them to pay school fees.
The Chairman said some students lost their parents,who were their sponsors to the insurgents onslaught hence they needed to be assisted.
He therefore called on the house to intervene by asking the state government to come to the aid of final years students who are about to seat for the above mentioned Examinations (NECO/WAEC) in the state.
Seconding the motion, Hon. Aliyu Iya representing Uba/Gaya constituency said it has become necessary for them to support this cause for the development of our future leaders in the state.
Hon. Iya observed that, education is the bedrock of development to any serious nation in the globe.
Adding his support for the move, Hon. Jerry Kumdisi, member representing Gombi constituency stated that, the resolution in timely considering the condition of there internally displaced persons, IDPS in the zone.
