The Media Workers’ Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society (MWMPCS), Asaba, Delta State, has posted a net surplus of N14,962,425.3 for the year ended December 31, 2017.
The president of the Association, Comrade Festus Uzor announced this yesterday in Asaba, the state capital during the 2nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Society held at the premises of the Delta Printing and Publishing Company Limited, Publishers of The Pointer Newspapers.
According to the Society’s President, while the society recorded a net surplus of N6,598,484.31 in 2016, the sum of N8,363,940.99 was recorded in 2017 fiscal year.
Also, Uzor, while thanking members of the society for their commitments and deication to the success of the society so far, added that the society’s External Reserve with the Cooperative Union as at date, stands at N4,206,000,00.
Further, he said “The committee in its deep drive to increase revenue and, at the same time provide members the opportunity of having their own properties in the capital territory, had acquired a parcel of land measuring 128 plots of 100ft×50ft at Okpanam and another measuring 224 plots of 100ft ×50 ft at Issele-Azaba”.
While saying that the lands have so far been distributed to members/beneficiaries, Uzor added that the sum of N21million profit have so far been recorded from the sakes of the lands. While N13 million was recorded from the sales of land at Isele-Azagba, N8 million was recorded from that of Okpanam.
He, however, enjoined beneficiaries of the lands to ensure sure that they developed such properties in record time.
