Military Aircraft Crashes in Senegal, Kills 6, Injures 14 Others

Six people have been killed and 14 others injured in a military transport helicopter crash in southwestern Senegal, the secretary-general of the government, Seydou Gueye, said.

“According to the latest information provided by the emergency services, who immediately rushed to the scene, six people have been killed in the incident.

“The rest of the passengers, 14 people, were injured, three of them seriously wounded,” Gueye said Wednesday, as quoted by the Dakaractu media outlet.

The accident took place near the Missirah village in the Fatick region.

Gueye said the helicopter was on route from the town of Ziguinchor to the capital of Dakar.
