NDLEA Raids 6 Drug Joints in Kano, Arrests 15 Suspects 

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Kano Strategic Command have dismantled six major drug hotspots across Kano metropolis.

A statement issued on Sunday by Sadiq Mohammed Maigatari, the Command’s Public Relations Officer, said  they arrested 15 suspects and recovered assorted illicit substances during the operation 

The raids, executed on the strength of intelligence, targeted locations in Farm Centre, Kofar Nasarawa, Diga Nasarawa, Dakata (Zango), Filin Polo and Hausawa.

items recovered during the operations included varying quantities of Cannabis sativa, pentazocine injections, pregabalin tablets and Exol-5 tablets.

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to sustaining pressure on drug hotspots within Kano and beyond,”  said the statement.

“While we continue to employ targeted enforcement operations, we are also intensifying non-kinetic strategies — including public sensitisation and community partnerships — to address the root causes of substance abuse, ” 

The statement warned those in the illicit trade that enforcement would continue adding  that “All those engaged in this illicit business will never see peace unless they repent and embrace legitimate enterprise and urged residents to support their efforts by providing timely information that could help locate and dismantle other drug networks.
