Nigerians Commend Naval Officers over Fitness Exercise

Some members of the public on Saturday commended the  men and officers of the Naval  Training Command during their quarterly 10km walk, saying that it showed that they were fit to defend the nation.

The two-hour walk which had no fewer than 600 officers participating commenced at the Naval base, Apapa.

Some of the members of the public  who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said that seeing the naval officers perform the exercise showed that they were fit and combat ready  anytime.

A lady who simply  identified herself as Amirat  said that she was marvelled with the way the officers and men from the Nigerian Navy participated in the   exercise.

She said that her respect for the force had increased, saying that they carried themselves with charisma and dignity.

“I have been seeing this people but never in large number. I was marvelled by what I saw, they really wowed me.

“How the citizens respected them also marvelled me, I was just smiling within me, ” she said.

Mr Daniel Aiyegbeni said that the way the force carried themselves was worth commending.

“I want to appreciate the navy because they always carry themselves with such charisma.There is this  quality about them that makes people respect them.

“I wish I could join the Force but I guess it’s too late, ” he said.

Ismaila Olorunrinu also said that he was impressed with what he saw, saying that he would not forget what he saw.

“What I saw increased my respect for them, I doff my hat to them, ” he said

An anonymous onlooker also said that seeing the Force engaged in such an  exercise had given the  citizens the strong belief that they were fit and agile to protect the populace.
