The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has announced plans to stage a nationwide protest rally on December 17, 2025, to press for urgent and sustained government action to tackle the country’s worsening insecurity.

The decision was taken by the NLC National Executive Council, which resolved to fully mobilise all its affiliates and state councils for the protest across the federation.

According to notice issued by NLC Spokesperson Benson Upah, the rally is aimed at drawing attention to the festering insecurity situation in Nigeria and demanding decisive steps by the state to safeguard lives and property.

In Abuja, the protest will commence with a convergence at the Labour House, Central Business District, by 7:30 a.m., after which workers and civil society allies will embark on a peaceful procession along designated routes.
