Governor Ahmed Ododo has committed Confluence State’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection run in 2027, officially declaring the campaign as his own “personal project”.
Mr Kingsley Fanwo, Kogi Commissioner for Information and Communications, delivered this remark on Monday in Lokoja.
Ododo described Tinubu’s landslide victory in the presidential primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a clear affirmation of the president’s visionary leadership and growing national acceptance.
The governor stated that the President’s overwhelming support indicates party members’ and Nigerians’ belief in his brave, reform-driven administration and commitment to national development.
He remarked that President Tinubu has demonstrated “uncommon love” for Kogi through historic approvals and actions poised to completely transform the state’s economic fortunes.
“I see Mr President’s reelection as a personal project to unlock the enormous potential of Kogi.
“Mr President has granted approvals for the establishment of an airport, a Free Trade Zone, an Agricultural Processing Zone and many other transformational projects,” the statement quoted the governor.
The governor emphasised that supporting Tinubu’s return by Kogi is both gratitude and strategy, saying, “for us in Kogi, the reelection of Mr President is a reward for his love for the state and for the greatness of our nation.
“His economic reforms are reshaping our nation and laying the foundation for long-term prosperity”.
The governor commended the President for pursuing bold economic reforms despite challenges, saying history would be kind to leaders who make difficult decisions for future stability and prosperity.
Ododo assured Tinubu of the total support of the Kogi Government and people ahead of the 2027 general elections, reaffirming the state’s commitment to progressive governance, economic transformation, and national unity.
The governor also applauded Tinubu for surrendering to the democratic process despite being the party’s National Leader, adding the gesture had added to his popularity among Nigerians.
With this vow, Kogi joins the increasing list of states preparing to support the President’s reelection campaign.
