*Says Obaseki is conqueror of insanity, restorer of sanity in Edo

The Onojie of Ugbegun, His Royal Highness (HRH) Samuel Obade 11, has endorsed the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki and his deputy and running mate, Rt. Hon. Comr. Philip Shaibu, for the September 19, 2020 governorship election on the back of successes recorded by the administration across all sectors of the state.

The monarch who gave the endorsement while receiving the governor, his deputy and other members of the Edo PDP Campaign Council in his palace in Esan Central Local Government Area, described Obaseki as a conqueror of insanity and restorer of sanity in Edo State, noting that his election will be the most peaceful election in the state.

Onojie of Ugbegun said: “This election will be peaceful. It can be likened to a student who read for an examination, while those that didn’t read will want to cause trouble so that the examination will not hold.

“This is a governor that builds institutions that will be enjoyed by future generations rather than building people’s pockets. From education, roads and healthcare, among other, the governor has continued to perform. He has started well and will get a second term in office.

“I used to be a good sportsman; when two teams are to contest and one fails to show up, it’s a walk over.  The team that shows up gets the points and is declared winner of the contest. This election is a walk over for you.”

He added, “You are the great conqueror of insanity and the restorer of sanity in Edo State. I want to say that I am most honoured by this visit.

“Thank you for all the favours you have done for this community, we are grateful and will thank you by coming out en masse to vote for you in the September 19 Governorship election.”

Responding, Obaseki said: “I want to assure you that the demands of your people and community are legitimate and we have begun work on the issues. If given another four years, all the issues will be addressed.”
