Orji Tasks Abia-south on Election of  Ikpeazu as Abia Governor

Abia State Governor, Chief Theodore Orji, says the major task of ensuring the emergence of the next governor of the state from Abia South zone lies with the people of the area and charged them not to let the opportunity slip from their hands.

Speaking at the PDP Abia South zonal campaign rally at the Aba Sports Stadium, the Governor reminded them that this is their opportunity which may not come again if they miss it.

Governor Orji who noted that the Ukwa Ngwa people have long yearned for the opportunity without success due to the polarization of the state before now, said a governor of Ngwa extraction is now possible because of the peace and unity now prevailing in the state.

He charged Abia South people to support all candidates of the party including Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu and President Goodluck Jonathan, noting that the whole of Abia North and Abia Central are in support of ceding the governorship seat of the state to Abia South people.

The Governor said that Ikpeazu is an equity governor who will bring peace in the state, cautioned Abians against voting money bags who would not have respect for the people.

He pointed out that the N300 billion Aba mega mall by Greenfield Assets Limited is in Aba today because of the security in the state, and said that he also has improved infrastructure and brought development to Aba the commercial nerve centre of the state.

In his remark, the Governorship candidate of the PDP, Dr.  Ikpeazu who promised to pay attention to the city if he becomes governor, promised not to disappoint Abia people.

Earlier, chairman of the party in the state, Senator Emma Nwaka said the Aba rally is a bold statement that PDP is the dominant party in Abia State and commended the organizers of the rally for a job well done.

Stakeholders of the party from the zone including former Senate President, Adolf Wabara. Former Labour Minister, Emeka Wogu and others spoke at the event during which flags were presented to candidates of the party vying for different positions.
