The Igo market women in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo have lauded President Muhammadu Buhari for the ongoing rehabilitation of the nine-kilometer Igo-Ikpella Road.

The women made the commendation in separate interviews with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), while speaking on what the community stood to benefit from the project, when completed.

The Market Leader, Mrs Anna Iyonomhe, expressed joy with the project, saying the community had for long been neglected in terms of infrastructure development.

“We want to thank the president for remembering us. We pray for good health and long life for him.
“With this road, our businesses that had suffered serious setback because of the bad road, are beginning to bounce back. It is a thing of joy for us,”  Iyonomhe said.

Also, market Secretary, Mrs Taiwo Nomawangbe, said they would continue to support the president in providing good governance for the area and Nigeria at large.

“We are indeed happy with the project and want more of that. We want good market constructed for us and electricity.”

Another market woman, Mrs Angella Oyatomhe, said: “We now have rest of mind that our people will not die any how on this road again.

“We used to record high rate of accident on the road because of its bad condition.
“With the completion of the road, we will be spared the ugly incidents,” Oyatomhe said.
The women expressed the hope that the project would herald more dividend of democracy from the Federal Government.

NAN reports that the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Mr Clem Agba, inspected the project on Tuesday, accompanied by officials of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, which is supervising the job.
