Owo attack: Nigeria Fast Becoming a Failed State, says Peter Obi

By Ogochukwu Isioma

Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr. Peter Obi, has said that Nigeria is fast becoming a failed state, following the killing of worshippers in Ondo State.

Scores of worshippers were on Sunday morning massacred at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo state, by suspected terrorists.

Taking to his verified Twitter handle Sunday night to condemn the attack, Obi said all hands to be on deck to rescue Nigeria from being a failed state.

He wrote: “What happened in Owo today again adds to my position that our country is fast becoming a failed state. All must now join hands in saving our country from this existential situation we find ourselves in today.”

Mr. Obi sympathised with the victims’ families, the Catholic Diocese of Ondo, the people and the Government of Ondo State.

He urged the Federal Government and Ondo State Government to “do whatever is possible to ensure that perpetrators of the dastardly act are brought to book.”
