Shocked spare parts dealers raised an alarm when they arrived at the old Bank of the North area in the morning screaming that the hand looked like that of a woman’s, yet the body from which it was cut off was not nearby for quick checks to be made.

Since none of them could explain the appearance of the mysterious hand around the bank of the north area of the capital, some them who sleep in their shops as security told metrowatchonline.com  that the assailants obviously did not kill the lady close by because they would have heard the shouts.

“They must have slaughtered her in a far location but came to dumb her hand in front of our shops to divert the attention of people and the security agents from the crime scene”

Men of the “Dandal” Division of the Nigerian Police Borno Command quickly rushed to the area and picked the lifeless hand which they lifted obviously to the morgue pending forensic investigation.

Attempts to get the police spokesman Shatambaya was futile because his phone was not reachable but a top cop in the police command said they will need time to unravel the owner of the hand by locating the body if it has not been torn into pieces and buried.

Ritual killings used to be common sights especially during general election years in Nigeria because it’s the period when people source for political power using any form of spiritual means.

This is because in a bid to win an election, most political players go ritual by visiting traditionalists who end up concocting rituals made from animals and humans for them.

And these rituals involve the use of vital body organs like the breasts of both sexes, heart, liver, private parts and any other parts declared wanted by the makers of their good luck or success charms.
