The Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said Nigerian youths should not be regarded as a burden, stressing that they represent an important asset to the country.

Obi made the remarks while speaking on the challenges confronting young Nigerians and the need for greater investment in their future.

The former Anambra State governor said the country must create an environment where young people can thrive, contribute to economic development and participate meaningfully in governance.

He argued that the growing challenges facing Nigerian youths should not be blamed on them, but should instead prompt leaders to take urgent steps to address unemployment, education, insecurity and other issues affecting their future.

Obi said, “Nigerian youths are not a burden. They are our greatest asset and the future of this country.”

He stressed that investing in young people through quality education, skills development, employment opportunities and effective leadership would strengthen Nigeria’s economy and improve the country’s prospects.

The former presidential candidate also urged young Nigerians to remain actively involved in the political process and demand accountability from those in positions of authority.
