Police Arraign 38-year-old Man for Stealing 2 Phones in Ekiti

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, informed the court that on January 6 at around 03:00 a.m., the defendant stole an iPhone 7 valued at N200,000.00 from Oso Samuel in the Ado community area of the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District.

The Ekiti State Police Command has charged Ogunrinde Temitope, 38, with stealing two phones at the Chief Magistrate court in Ado-Ekiti.

The prosecutor, Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, informed the court that on January 6 at around 03:00 a.m., the defendant stole an iPhone 7 valued at N200,000.00 from Oso Samuel in the Ado community area of the Ado-Ekiti Magisterial District.

Inspector Oriyomi went on to say that on the same date and location, at around 04:00 a.m., did stole an iPhone 12 Pro worth N480,000.00 from Bakare Simbiat.

The prosecutor noted that the offence committed is punishable under Section 302 of the Law of Ekiti State of Nigeria 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister O. G. Abiola, urged the court to admit his client to bail, saying he would not jump bail.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Abayomi Adeosun, granted bail in the sum of N100,000 with one surety in like sum and adjourned the case till February 6, for hearing.
