Police Probes Viral Video of Lady Found Dead in Abuja Hotel

The Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Police Command has commenced an investigation to unravel the circumstances behind a viral video of a young lady, who was found dead with her hands tied in a hotel room located in the Gwarinpa area of the capital city.

Josephine Adeh, the Public Relations Officer of the command, said in a statement on Wednesday that the command is aware of the viral video, identifying the lady as Aladi Offikwu Johnson from Benue State.

She noted that the Commissioner of Police, Ajao S. Adewale has ordered a thorough investigation into the matter to ascertain the root cause of the incident.

According to the statement, preliminary investigation into the incident revealed that the victim checked into a hotel located at 3rd Avenue, Gwarinpa, on June 16, 2025 with an unidentified man, who exited the facility without the young lady.

She said a hotel staff discovered the lady unconscious during routine service rounds, leading to the involvement of the police.

“While the investigation is ongoing, the Commissioner of Police urges members of the public to remain calm and allow the Police to carry out a comprehensive inquiry,” she stated.
