Police Seek Court Approval to Keep Bobrisky in Custody

Idris Okunueye, aka Bobrisky

The Nigerian Police criminal department, Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Alagbon, Lagos, have reportedly obtained a court order to keep popular cross-dresser, Idris Okuneye, also known as Bobrisky in custody while investigations continue.

Bobrisky was arrested on Monday by Nigeria Immigration Service officers at the Seme border in Badagry as he tried to flee the country.

He was handed over to FCID officers and is currently being held at their facility.

A senior police officer, who asked not to be named, confirmed that they sought a court order for Bobrisky’s continued detention: “We have gone to court to get a detention order from a court to keep Bobrisky pending the outcome of investigation or further directive from higher authority.”
