According to Daily Mail, the flight was slightly delayed after the scheduled pilot went sick, and a replacement had to be quickly arranged.

Vanguard reported yesterday that Harry and Meghan are visiting  Nigeria on the invitation of the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Musa to interact with wounded soldiers.

Director Sports, Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Air Vice Marshal Abidemi Marquis made this known on Thursday.

Marquis said that Harry, the founder of Invictus Games will spend three days in Nigeria, interacting with wounded soldiers and their families.

The DHQ sports director noted that the visit slated from 10th to 13th May 2024 will help the wounded soldiers in their recovery efforts.

“We realised that 80% of our soldiers have been involved in this recovery programme, they are getting better. Their outlook to life is positive,” AVM Marquis said.

Meanwhile as they arrived in Nigeria this morning, some Nigerian officials met them on arrival, just before 5 am, at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.

Afterward, they were taken out of a side door onto the jetty, and into a waiting blacked-out minibus.

“They will be tired after their journey, so they will rest and then the first engagement is at midday at the Defence Headquarters,” defence spokesperson Brigadier-General Tukur Gusau told the Daily Mail.

“After that, they will travel to Kaduna to meet wounded soldiers at a military hospital there before returning to Abuja for other engagements.”

This is the first time the couple would visit Nigeria together.
