The Head, SoundMinds International School, Abuja, Mrs. Nora Idowu, has called on parents to join forces with governments at all levels to develop the education sector for effective service delivery
Mrs Idowu, who also described Christmas season as a time to be joyous, to show love, stated the need for sharing good things of life with neighbours.
Idowu said this at the Christmas Carol Service for 2018, organised by the management of the school in Abuja.
“When you look at all the things that are happening around us, you would think that there is nothing to be joyous about.
“So we thought, why don’t we change the narrative a bit and look inward and find that thing within us that God has placed in us and that will make us happy and we chose the theme: `Arise and Shine for your light has come’.
“Though darkness may cover the earth – gross darkness – and the people, God commanded us to arise and shine.
“There’s a light within everyone of us and if we can find that light, walk in that light, wherever we go, we’ll outshine darkness, overwhelming darkness, or so it seems, all around us,’’ she said.
According to the head of the school, one of the reasons for organizing the carol, is to provide a platform for the pupils and students of the school to express themselves and for them to imbibe virtues that will prepare them for the future.
Pupils of the school, both male and female, took turns to do choreography, just as parents took turns to extol the virtues of the management of the school
