Scores Dead as Farmers, Grazers Clash in Taraba

Unspecified number of people has been killed in Wukari Local Government Area of Taraba State following a clash between farmers and grazers in the area.
Confirming the incidence, President of National Association of Wapan Students, Tsokwa Addati Ajiduku, said it is not possible to give the number that was killed.
“It is not possible for me to give you the accurate figure now but the truth is that a lot of people were killed and several others injured”.
He identified the lukewarm attitudes of both the state government and security operatives for the ongoing killings in the area. Ajiduku Wonder why it has become impossible for the state government to put an end to the killing going on in the area.
He also expressed dismay at the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Josiah Sabo Kente, for not showing concern over the activities of the attackers in his constituency.
According to him, the speaker he never attempted to come home and see things for himself.
“Most of the attacks taking place in Wukari occurred in the speaker’s constituency, yet he seems not to be disturbed. We are still blaming the speaker because he never attempted to come home and see things for himself”.
He said rather than wading into the crisis that is eliminating his people, the speaker is busy passing votes of confidence on the Acting Governor.
Also confirming the report, the Police Public Relation Officer in the state Joseph Kwaji said the attack was carried out by unknown gunmen. He said the command don’t have no exact figures of persons killed in the clash but they have succeeded in restoring normalcy in the area
