Senator Monday Okpebholo on Friday mourned a former Edo State Commissioner of Education, Chief (Barr) Frank Erewele, popularly known as Chief Okafi.
Senator Okpebholo during a condolence visit on Friday, expressed his condolences to the family of the pioneer member of the All Progressives Congress, whom he described as “an intellectual giant.”
The APC governorship candidate noted that the death of Chief Okafi was an irrecoverable loss to Esanland in particular and Edo State in general.
“Chief Okafi was a courageous and fearless leader. He was a figure of enormous generosity of spirit and humility despite his outstanding success in life.
“Chief Okafi was an intellectual giant. He loved this state dearly and as such build friendships across the three senatorial districts that stood the test of time. He led a good life and made a huge contribution to the political development of our beloved state.”
Senator Okpebholo also extended his condolences to the members of the royal palace of Irrua Kingdom and the Okaijesan of Esanland, HRH W.O Momodu 11, the Ojie-Irrua of Irrua Kingdom. He further prayed for the repose of the soul of Chief Frank Okafi Erewele.
