A former Governor of Abia, Dr Orji Kalu has described the passing of former Anambra governor, Dr Chukwuemeka Ezeife as a huge loss to Ndigbo and Nigeria in general.
Kalu made the declaration on Friday in a condolence message over the demise of the elder statesman made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abakaliki.
The Senate Committee Chairman on Privatalisation acknowledged Ezeife’s invaluable contributions to nation building and extolled his leadership qualities.
“The late politician was a notable figure in national politics.
“I commiserate with the government and people of Anambra and urge the Ezeife dynasty to sustain the good deeds of the late seasoned administrator.”
He noted that the deceased lived a purposeful life and commiserated with his family on behalf of the people of Abia North Senatorial district.
“Ezeife contributed to the social, economic and political development of Nigeria through various platforms.
“He was a seasoned public administrator, consummate politician and outstanding philanthropist.
“The late statesman left behind worthy legacies for his family and loved ones to sustain.”
Kalu prayed for eternal rest for the late politician.
