The Delta State Government has lauded the sterling qualities of the Executive Secretary, Delta State Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, ( DESMSMEDA), Chief (Mrs.) Shimite Bello, describing her as a blessing and a plus to the Senator Ifeanyi Okowa administration.
Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Festus Ovie Agas, and the Chief Job creation Officer of the State, Prof. Eric Eboh, stated this in Ebu, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state during the conferment of a chieftaincy title on the DESMSMEDA boss by the Onu of Ebu Kingdom, HRM Paul Odilile Opili.
METROWATCH Online reports that the DESMSMEDA boss was conferred with one of the highest and most prestigious chieftaincy titles in the Kingdom, Akpeli Ugo Fufu l of Ebu Kingdom in recognition of her contributions to the socio-economic growth and development of the agrarian community.
Speaking specifically, on behalf of the Delta State Government, the SSG said, “on behalf of the state government and the good people of Delta state, I want to congratulate our own, Chief (Mrs). Shimite Bello.
“Without trying to be immodest, as the SSG, I coordinate the activities of the various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) in the state.
“Our daughter, Shimite Bello is the Executive Secretary of the state Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency. By that, I have regular interactions with her. I stand here to testify that during the three and-a-half years of this administration, she has been a blessing to Delta State Government.
“She has impacted positively on our Micro-credit scheme. Apart from that, she is our focal person in the federal government’s school feeding programme in the state.
“I stand here also to say that she liaises with the federal government on behalf of the state. Through her singular efforts, over N 5 billion has been attracted to the state government
“I therefore, have no doubt that because of your outstanding performance in government, the King of Ebu has considered it wise to confer the title of Akpeli Ugo Fufu on You”, Agas said.
On his part, the chief job creation officer of the state, Prof Eric Eboh, while describing Bello as a pleasant lady to work with, added that she has been a plus to the administration of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa just as he urged her to sustain the good works.
Others, who spoke at the event including the recipient’s elder sister, Mrs Agatha Amata, lauded the sterling qualities of the recipient, urging her to sustain the tempo.
Speaking in an interview with journalists at the event, the recipient, while expressing appreciation to the people of Ebu Kingdom, particularly His Royal Majesty for founding her worthy for the honour, promised to sustain her community-driven initiatives in order to enhance the socio-economic status of the agrarian community.
Our correspondent reports that guests were later treated to mouth-watery reception held at the Ubueni Primary School compound in Ebu, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state.
