The Coalition of Southern Kaduna Progressive Minds has distanced itself from a protest in Kafanchan on Tuesday by a group claiming solidarity with the embattled former governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El-Rufai.

A statement signed by Jehu Dogo and Najib Mohammed, chairman and secretary of the coalition, respectively, said those who organised the rally did not represent the people of Southern Kaduna.

“The perpetrators of this failed protest do not represent the authentic voice of Southern Kaduna.

“Their identities are questionable, their motives suspicious, and their loyalty clearly aligned with political forces seeking to smuggle the African Democratic Congress (ADC) into the region through manufactured unrest.
“The so-called protest was a desperate political stunt by envious sponsors who are clearly unsettled by the overwhelming acceptance and visible developmental strides of the current administration under the visionary leadership of Sen. Uba Sani.
“Their mission was not rooted in justice, fairness, or public interest, but in a desperate attempt to test the resolve of a politically conscious people who have only recently recovered from years of alienation and deliberate sidelining,” it read
It stated that any attempt to drag Southern Kaduna into externally orchestrated political schemes will be firmly and peacefully resisted.
“While the constitutional right to peaceful protest remains respected, it must not be abused as a tool for political mischief, misinformation, or destabilisation,” it said
According to the statement, the coalition is fully supportive of the ongoing investigation of El-Rufai by relevant security and anti-graft agencies, adding that no individual is above the law.
The coalition said that the people of Southern Kaduna remain grateful to Gov. Sani for giving them a sense of belonging after many years of neglect.
“Governor Uba Sani’s administration has, with deliberate intention and uncommon sincerity, restored dignity, inclusiveness, and balance across Kaduna State.
“His leadership has prioritised meaningful infrastructure, human capital development, and equitable governance, driven by genuine love, compassion, and respect for all segments of the state,” it added
The coalition called on all well-meaning youths and stakeholders in a better Southern Kaduna to remain focused and refuse to be used as instruments of division or political manipulation. (NAN)
