The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, AAC, Omoyele Sowore on Tuesday led a protest to the Police Force Headquarters in Abuja over an alleged assassination attempt made on his life and those of his team members in Ekiti State.

Trooping out in their numbers, the protesters said they would no longer tolerate unlawful attacks by thugs.

Sowore asked the Nigeria Police Force to unravel the rationale behind the attack and asked for immediate action over alleged attempts to cover up the identities of suspected assassins.

He stated that the thugs tried to kill him in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, last Friday, accusing the police of doing everything to cover up the identity of those behind the attack.

While warning that they would resist if there were any attempt to sweep the matter under the carpet, the protesters insisted that the police must arrest and parade those behind the assassination attempt.

Recall that Sowore had earlier accused Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, of seizing his stolen mobile phones and other devices that were traced to the Government House in Ado-Ekiti.
