Four lunatics at the weekend stormed a weeding reception in Asaba, Delta State, and chased out guests who were already seated, listening to music including comics by a comedian around Infant Jesus Road in capital city.
The event center build by a highly placed politician in Asaba was packed full of dignitaries when the lunatics suddenly beat up security men at the gate and barged into the hall to embarrass the guests and the newly wedded couple.
Before many of the guests could recover from the shock, the lunatics were fast eating their foods and drinks as they took to the dance floor in the eyes of the couple who ordered the security agents to take them away.
Speaking to our reporter, a guest, Mrs. Mercy Chukwudi, said “It was very shocking to see the lunatics suddenly beat the security to find their way into the hall, they embarrassed the guests. I am the mother of the bride, the way they came, very shocking to see them,”
It was gathered that trouble started when the security agents had a quarrel among themselves, and they were allegedly engaged in shouting voices: a situation the lunatics suntered into the hall, and pounced on the guests.
But another guest, Eunice Bello, said “I was just introducing the arrival of some personalities when I saw guests running, I was shocked to see the lunatics, they started eating the foods on the tables; thank God for the police men who later moved them out of the hall”.
Sources said the groom had had some differences with a friend who allegedly threatened to embarrass the guests during reception, but the groom’s brother, Patrick Soghadu, said it was not true adding “there was a minor quarrel between my brother and his friend, it was resolved”.
