Iran has said that passing through the Strait of Hormuz, ships must comply with its security regulations and coordinate their passage with relevant authorities.

According to its mission to the United Nations late on Tuesday, the Islamic Republic stated that it is easing restrictions on transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

It noted that vessels not deemed hostile and not supporting military action against Tehran may pass.

The Strait of Hormuz has become a flashpoint in the current US-Israeli war with Iran.

Meanwhile, Iran has repeatedly attacked vessels in the waterway, effectively closing off a key shipping route for global oil and gas supplies.
