Nigeria’s number one citizen, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has hailed the Super Falcons for claiming the title at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Justine Madugu’s side fought back from two goals down to beat hosts Atlas Lionesses of Morocco 3-2 in a thrilling final in Rabat on Saturday night.

It was the 10th time the Super Falcons had won the title.

Morocco led through goals from Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanna Mssoudy.

Nigeria, however, won the tie through second-half goals from Esther Okoronkwo, Folashade Ijamilusi, and substitute Jennifer Echegini.

Tinubu, in a message on his X account, saluted the players for clawing their way back from defeat to win the game.

“They chose to accept this mission. They understood the assignment.

Our Superior Super Falcons delivered in true Nigerian fashion. Never say Never.

They went. They saw. They have conquered again!

10-time champions of Africa,” reads the message.

President Tinubu is expected to host the Super Falcons on their arrival in the country.
