Aged Ika women, Delta State,  on Monday at Agbor in Delta State, rained curses on the  sacked Special Assistant on Security Matters to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Friday Eluro, for dehumanizing a housewife, Mabel Ekerume, for allegedly challenging him and his boys over the “harassment members of the Owa Oyibu community for no reasons.”

An eyewitness, Janet Oyibu, said the angry women displaying their breasts in the open, matched through various streets in Agbor, raining curses on Eluro in Ika dialect, saying that “it will not be well with him, and his boys who not only beat up the woman, but stripped her naked and tied her hands and legs on the ground, flogging her in the process”.

They were said to have decreed that Eluro and his boys will continue to witness unbearable pains and disgrace for the disgrace meted out on the “poor” woman whose husband had in the last two years been hit by stroke as “he cannot walk or cater for his family anymore.”

Leader of the aged women, Madam Omoseivie Gbenoba, who spoke to newsmen in the area, said: “We have placed a curse on Eluro for abusing a housewife, dehumanizing her for challenging him and his boys over the increasing harassment of members of Owa Oyibu community for no reasons; the woman was stripped naked, her hands and legs tied on the ground and Eluro’s boys started flogging her, the abuse on the woman is for the entire Ika women, we have done our own to teach others serious lessons, Eluro and his boys who dealt with the woman are insane, and they cannot go unpunished”.

Recall that the State Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa had sacked Eluro and handed him over to the police for beating and dehumanizing the woman.

Traditional ruler of the community, HRM Obi Emmanuel Efeizomo ll, has also withdrawn with immediate effect, the chieftaincy title conferred on Eluro, adding that the former aide’s act was unacceptable and a taboo in Owa Kingdom.

In a statement, the Monarch said that the withdrawal of the chieftaincy title was sequel to a circulating video on the unjustifiable beating meted out on a hapless woman in Owa Kingdom.

Part of the Statement reads:” That the Onyewebuoda, son of Owa Kingdom tittle earlier bestowed on Friday Eluro has been withdrawn and all customary privileges attached also withdrawn with immediate effect” and called on all Security agencies to act Swiftly in a bid to restore the confidence and human dignity of the woman.

Also, the Nigeria Union Of Journalists ( NUJ) Delta State Council in a statement signed by its Chairman, Micheal Ikeogwu, commended Okowa on the action taken against Eluro.
