Two Persons  Escape Death in in Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Lone Accident | METROWATCH

Two persons on Thursday escaped death in a lone car accident along the Longbridge section of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The incident which happened at about 7:03 am involved a Toyota Corolla with number plate MUS-553-CW.

The unit commander of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency along the axis, Ojo Oloye, told The PUNCH that the vehicle was heading inward Lagos State when it had a tyre burst and somersaulted.

He said, “The accident occurred when the front tyre of the vehicle burst while in motion. This caused the vehicle to somersault. The occupants were a male and a female.

“Emergency responders were contacted while the incident partially affected the flow of traffic. Our patrol team was able to manage the traffic situation.”

Oloye added that the vehicle was later upturned and evacuated from the road.

The accident is the second in 24 hours as a truck also collided with a vehicle along the bridge on Wednesday morning, leaving five people injured.
