Edo APC rallies at various wards were graced with the unconcealed energy of its supporters in Etsako Central on Saturday, September 7, 2024.
The people, who had long yearned for a break from the deception of the PDP, poured out in great numbers to show their solidarity for the APC. The atmosphere was an indication of their eagerness to embrace true leadership and cast aside the failed governance of the PDP in the state.
Comrade Adams Oshiomhole laid bare the hypocrisy of the PDP. “They promised Pascal Ogbome the deputy governorship seat in their bid to unseat Hon. Philip Shaibu, but it was a deceit. Instead, they handed the position to someone from the Labour Party,” he thundered. “Then they dangled the SSG position when Ogie resigned, only to hand it to a small fry, Eboigbe. The PDP’s politics is a game of deceit, and it’s time to end their charade.”
The comrade Senator vociferously submitted. “The PDP has brought nothing but ruin to our state. Obaseki in his delusion, tore down a hospital to build a museum and demolished a library only to put up a Mall. But we are here to right his wrongs. On September 21st, we will vote them out. The wife of the governor called me a ‘kukuruku man’, and Ogiadomhe applauded; it is about time we rid our land of these scavengers.”
Hon. Blessing Agbomhere, in his fiery address, stated that the massive crowd had already told the story. “You already know Sen Monday Okpebholo and his capabilities!” he declared. “With this sea of supporters, victory is inevitable! Go tell the remaining PDP members here not to waste their votes. The tide has already turned. APC is the future, and our triumph is assured!”
King Benjamin Igbadome’s voice boomed next. “I’m giving you these campaign materials (CDs). Spread them far and wide, even to the most remote corners of our state, so that by election day, even our elders will know exactly who to vote for without hesitation.”
General Ilogo took his place on stage, and his message was resolute. “We know who to vote for. SMO is the only one who can rescue Edo. The other candidates are mere pretenders. Leadership runs through SMO’s veins.”
Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu then seized the moment to remind the people of their path forward. “A vote for APC is a vote to continue the work that Oshiomhole started. Don’t be deceived by PDP’s lies. On election day, seek out the broom, the symbol of our collective strength, and together, we’ll sweep away their failures. Etsako Central, under APC, will rise again!”
Sen. Monday, AKA Akpakomiza’s voice, then cut through the crowd. “PDP has resorted to desperation and violence because they know they have lost. Why are they shooting at us here in Pascal Ogbome’s village? Is this an election or a battlefield? Don’t blame us when they’re arrested!”
He pressed on, striking at the heart of the PDP’s economic failures. “Where is the presence of the Edo State government in this community? Our people are suffering, and Obaseki is nowhere to be found. If Obaseki had been serious about governance, we would not be talking about insecurity today. During Oshiomhole’s time, safety was given a priority, but under this administration, fear has become a norm.
In a final blow, Akpakomiza delivered the vision of the new Edo. “A thief used to steal goats, but now it’s our people that are being stolen (kidnapped) every time! We will drive them out because they do not belong here. The disgrace of one school with two teachers and one headmaster will end when I become the governor. We will employ 5,000 teachers within months, revitalise public schools, restore health centres, and build a quality educational system. When we win, we won’t just talk about change. We will make a statement with our work. This is the promise of the APC. Let’s make Edo great again. It takes someone who understands your struggles to pull you out of them. Edo needs help, and your vote is the key to unlocking a future of prosperity.”
Edo is ready for real leadership, real progress, and a greater future under the APC.
