Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has said that the FCT administration will run a 31-day programme of project commissioning across Abuja to mark President Bola Tinubu’s third anniversary in office.
Speaking at a political luncheon in Port Harcourt, Wike described the month-long schedule as an unprecedented “marathon” of inaugurations that will showcase major road networks, public utilities and large-scale urban renewal works he said are reshaping the nation’s capital.
“This third year of Mr. President alone…, we are taking 31 days for commissioning of projects in Abuja. I’m not talking about boreholes. I challenge anybody to contradict this,” the minister told the gathering, linking the surge of activity in the FCT to the “strategic backing and vision” of President Tinubu.
Wike used the event to catalogue what he called landmark achievements under his watch and to push back at critics who have questioned the scope and quality of the administration’s output in the capital.
The former Rivers State governor also took a reconciliatory tone on his home turf, offering an olive branch to political opponents in Rivers State and urging estranged allies to return.

“I use this opportunity today, to announce that I have forgiven everybody,” Wike said. “I want you to come back home sincerely… We have played politics, we have abused ourselves, this is the right time for you to come back.”
Despite the offer of forgiveness, Wike warned outside actors against interfering in Rivers State politics and stressed the strength of his local political structure, which he described as an invincible “rainbow coalition.”
“Anybody from another state who is trying to destroy Rivers State, the person will have problems… You put your hand, you get fire,” he said, adding bluntly about the state’s governorship contest: “If you are talking about the governorship election in this state, forget it, it’s gone… If you are thinking that any miracle will happen to overturn, to pull the rug off us, it’s a lie.”
Wike reassured supporters that his political machinery remains alert and prepared. “We are very over-alerted anytime, any day. We’ll take you back, we’ll work with everybody. We are not selfish,” he said, asserting that the coalition is positioned to maintain dominance “for the next eight years and beyond.”
