Social media critic Martins Ortse, better known as VeryDarkMan, on Monday described the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Ola Olukoyede, as “incompetent.”
According to VeryDarkMan, Olukoyede’s inability to apprehend former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello despite proclaiming him wanted since April demonstrates his incompetence.
The EFCC charged Bello with suspected N80.2 billion money laundering crimes while he was the governor of Kogi State.
The Commission had placed Bello on the wanted list, but the former governor reportedly presented himself to the anti-graft agency.
Bello was reportedly released even though the EFCC had declared him wanted.
VeryDarkMan, in an Instagram post on Monday, said, “Ola Olukoyede is a symbol of incompetence and mediocrity, and I call him a clown.
“Why did I call him a clown? On April 18 he posted that Yahaya Bello is wanted by the EFCC. On the same day he posted that ‘N80.2bn money laundering, Bello’s absence stalls arraignment’.
“Since April EFCC posted that Yahaya Bello was wanted, it has been story upon story. Within all these, EFCC has been able to arraign over 100 people. The money from all these people is not up to N120 million unlike Bello.
“@officialefcc the clowns of all agencies tell your Chairman he is a big clown. The only grace you have is the fact that the youths are always carried away.
“Your office shouldn’t be existing again, arresting young boys everyday and neglecting the real fraudsters.”
