Zulum Opens Health Centre, Technical College in Mbalala

In continuation of his tour of southern Borno, Governor Babagana Zulum on Tuesday commissioned the Government Technical College and a primary healthcare centre in Mbalala village of Chibok Local Government Area.


The commissioning of the twenty classroom technical college which was done in the night, attracted the entire students and teachers population who waited for the governor till after nine pm in the night when the ceremony was over.


Addressing the Principal and staff after the commissioning, the Governor directed the Principal to start shopping for more teachers to augment the current inadequacies for smooth take off.

Earlier on Tuesday morning, the Governor had supervised the distribution of cash, food and wrappers to internally displaced persons IDPs who waited patiently for him to flag off his routine ration distribution in Damboa.


Hundreds of residents and hunters throng the government lodge to receive briefing and support from the Governor who passed the night in the former beseiged town to give moral support to the residents.


The Governor had assessed ongoing construction of 500 low cost houses to be used for resettlement of some families displaced by Boko Haram on the same day and spent hours holding talks with stake holders.

He was also at the Damboa Police divisional headquarters and personnel quarters, which was recently rehabilitated by the state government after destruction by Boko Haram.


Governor Zulum also inspected the ongoing construction of Damboa- Chibok road in which Borno’s commissioner of works, Arch. Yerima Saleh noted had reached 75% completion.


Accompanying Zulum in the trip were Senator representing Southern Borno, Muhammad Ndume, APC chair Ali Dalori, members of House of Representatives and commissioners from southern Borno.
