Heavily armed gunmen Saturday besieged Gindiri Chiefdom of Mangu council area around 1am this morning kidnapping the wife of the Commissioner of Environment, Usman Bamaiyi.
The suspected terrorists came with the intention to kidnap the environment Commissioner but ended up picking his wife and daughter when they couldn’t find him in his residence.
Reliable sources in Mangu, about 78km from Jos, hinted that the hunted Commissioner is one of the aspirants trying to contest for the Mangu-Bokkos Federal House Constituency seat in the next general election within the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). metrowatchonline.com learnt that this early morning abduction is coming barely a week another woman with her daughter were abducted along two pastors in the same area.
Spokesperson of the Plateau State Police Command Gabriel Ubah confirmed the incident adding that they are on top of the incident.
No word was heard about the usual payment of ransom to the terrorists as at the time of filling this report.
