Former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has expressed confidence in the capacity of the emerging opposition coalition to overcome internal divisions, sabotage, and conflicting ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

In a recent interview, Malami admitted that political alliances are often vulnerable to infiltration and crises, but assured that the coalition is prepared for such challenges.

“In any political arrangement, you cannot rule out infiltration, sabotage, or personal ambitions,” he said. “But we are resolved to continue, and we are committed to overcoming whatever challenges arise.”

Malami, who recently joined the African Democratic Congress, ADC, after leaving the All Progressives Congress, APC, has been a key figure in the growing coalition seeking to challenge the ruling party’s dominance.

He noted that while ambition is natural in politics, the strength of any coalition lies in its ability to manage competing interests with discipline and unity.

“Political engagement includes ambitions, but managing those ambitions is what makes the difference,” he added.
