The Lagos State Police Command has trained its personnel on election security management as part of efforts to strengthen preparations for the 2027 general elections.
The training, organised by the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) and facilitated by 3Streams Synergy, lasted five days, from October 26 to October 30, 2026.
The command’s spokesperson, SP Abimbola Adebisi, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday in Lagos.
She said the programme brought together officers mainly from the Lagos State Police Command, alongside personnel from the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex, Lagos, Zone 2 Headquarters, Special Fraud Unit and Special Protection Unit.
According to her, the training focused on professionalism, political neutrality, impartiality, respect for human rights, crowd management, inter-agency collaboration and adherence to the rule of law.
Adebisi said the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Olaiwola Fatai, commended the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, for his commitment to personnel development and professional policing.
The police commissioner also appreciated the NPTF for providing the opportunity to improve officers’ knowledge and skills in election security management.
The spokesperson said the command was strengthening its operational capacity to provide adequate security before, during and after the 2027 general elections.
She reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, safeguarding the electoral process and ensuring that residents could exercise their democratic rights in a peaceful and secure environment.
