Vice President Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to re-elect President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election, describing the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the most trustworthy political party.
Shettima made the appeal on Monday during the APC presidential campaign rally in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
He said the party had remained committed to its supporters despite what he described as lies and propaganda aimed at misrepresenting the administration.
Addressing supporters at the rally, the vice president expressed appreciation to the people of Cross River State for their continued support over the past three years.
“To the people of Cross River State, we have come to you again. We have come as the most trustworthy friends that you can ever have. These are not empty words,” he said.
Shettima added that the people of the state remained central to the administration’s political plans, describing the renewed mandate being sought by the APC as an opportunity to sustain progress and development.
He also called on Nigerians to support Tinubu’s second-term ambition, while urging Cross River residents to re-elect Governor Bassey Otu and APC candidates contesting seats in the National and State Assemblies.
“We seek this opportunity to carry their workings to second terms. We are asking because authority belongs to the people, and those entrusted with authority must return with their account of stewardship and a programme worthy of trust,” he added.
The vice president further appealed to voters to support all APC candidates in the forthcoming elections, saying, “Vote APC from top to bottom.”
