“I wholeheartedly welcome AIG Atayero,” the Minister was quoted as saying. “His leadership at the Police Academy comes at a crucial time, and I assure him of my continuous support. Achieving our shared goals for a more professional and responsive police force depends heavily on collaboration and teamwork.”

On his part, the Academy’s Commandant, AIG Atayero used the opportunity to highlight the Nigeria Police Academy’s ongoing reforms and expressed gratitude for the Minister’s unwavering support.

“This visit marks a new phase in our commitment to aligning our training programs with contemporary security challenges,” the Commandant noted. “We are determined to equip future police officers with the highest standards of professionalism and leadership.”

The key focus of the visit was to foster stronger synergy between the Ministry of Police Affairs and the Nigeria Police Academy, especially in aligning training curricula with national security priorities.

“The visit is a testament to the ongoing institutional collaboration between the Nigeria Police Academy and the Ministry of Police Affairs, as both entities work hand in hand to enhance the professional standards of policing in Nigeria,” the statement noted.

Also present at the meeting was the immediate-past Commandant of the Academy, DIG Sadiq Abubakar, whose presence, according to the statement, symbolizes continuity and the Academy’s dedication to sustaining excellence in police training.
