Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), has revealed that he momentarily considered stepping down following a severe computer malfunction that halted the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME.

Oloyede made the statement during a meeting with chief external examiners, civil society organisations, and tertiary education stakeholders in Abuja on Wednesday.

The JAMB chief responded to the scandal and the calls for his resignation.

Some critics had alleged ethnic bias and sabotage regarding the UTME mishap.
