On Thursday, 6th March 2025, the National President of the Alumni Association of the National Institute (AANI), Ambassador Emmanuel Obi Okafor, mni, led a high-powered delegation to condole with the family of the late Mr. David Shikfu Paradang, OFR, mni, a distinguished member of the association and former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Immigration Service, who passed away recently.
The delegation was received by Air Vice Marshal Amos S. Bulus (rtd), mni, Senior Special Adviser to the Chief of Defence Staff on Technology, who spoke on behalf of the bereaved family. He expressed deep appreciation for the visit, noting that AANI’s gesture was a testament to the strong bond of unity and camaraderie among its members.
In his condolence message, the AANI President described the late David Paradang, OFR, mni, as a respected leader, a selfless public servant, and a beloved member of AANI, whose contributions to the association and the nation were invaluable. He encouraged the bereaved family, particularly his wife, to find strength in the remarkable legacy of service and integrity he left behind. He thereafter presented a formal condolence message to the family.
As a mark of respect and faith, the Vice President of AANI, Mrs. Olufunke Amos, mni, led the delegation and family members in prayers for the peaceful repose of the departed soul.
The delegation comprised AANI members from across the country, including Rear Admiral F.O. Isaac, mni, Chairman of the FCT Chapter; Alhaji Samaila Umar Sifawa, mni; Elder Reuben Taiwo Famodile, mni, former General Manager, NEPZA; Ominiyi Fagbemi, mni, Treasurer, FCT Chapter; Dr. (Mrs.) Chinelo Echero, mni; Dr. Babatunde Kayode, mni, AANI Assistant Secretary General; Alhaji Muhammad Ladan Nasir, mni; Rear Admiral Leye Jaiyeola, mni, retired Deputy Director General, Department of State Services; Mr. Jonathan Kure, mni; Dr. Ngozi Ekeoba, mni; members of the National Executive Committee, and representatives from various AANI chapters, amongst others.
The visit reinforced AANI’s commitment to standing by its members and their families in times of grief, upholding the association’s core values of solidarity, support, and unity.
