The African Democratic Congress, ADC, on Wednesday denied reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, refused to recognise its new leadership under David Mark.

Mark recently emerged as ADC’s Interim National Chairman, and some young Nigerians were elected into the party’s National Working Committee, NWC.

But, ADC submitted the names of its new leadership in a report of its 99th National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting to INEC.

With the report circulating on social media, there are claims that it is false.

However, ADC spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi urged Nigerians to ignore the misleading report.

Posting on X, Abdullahi wrote: “The attention of ADC has been drawn to a story circulating that the @inecnigeria has refused to recognise the new leadership of our party under the Distinguished Senator David Mark.

“This story is entirely false and should be ignored. We urge Nigerian people to ignore such misleading reports from any quarters and stay focused on mobilising the long suffering people of Nigeria for the great task to save our dear country.”
