ADC Urges Tinubu to Address All Insecurity Victims Equally

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the opposition party said the President should provide updates on the 176 residents of Woro community in Kaiama, Kwara State, who were abducted on February 3, 2026, and remain in captivity.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has asked President Bola Tinubu to give equal attention to all victims of insecurity across Nigeria, saying those abducted in Kaiama, Borno, Zamfara and other parts of the country deserve the same concern as victims recently rescued in Oyo State.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, the opposition party said the President should provide updates on the 176 residents of Woro community in Kaiama, Kwara State, who were abducted on February 3, 2026, and remain in captivity.

The ADC said the President’s public celebration of the rescue of abductees in Oyo had raised questions about the fate of victims still being held elsewhere. It also pointed to the recent abduction of 40 residents in Zamfara, fresh attacks in Benue, the kidnapping of Kebbi High Court Judge Justice Faruku Hassan Bunza, and continuing violence in Borno as signs that insecurity remains a major challenge.

The party said residents of Kaiama recently staged a peaceful protest over the fate of the abducted villagers, adding that families have continued to ask when their loved ones will return.

According to the statement, “Their protest was not political. It was the cry of citizens who fear that their loved ones have been forgotten.”

The ADC urged the President to provide regular updates on rescue efforts, asking what progress had been made to free the Kaiama victims, those abducted in Zamfara, Justice Bunza and others still in captivity.

The party also referred to Tinubu’s recent assurance that insecurity in northern Nigeria would soon end but argued that Nigerians now expect concrete results instead of repeated promises.

It said, “Hope cannot survive indefinitely on declarations alone.”

The ADC further claimed that the President is increasingly seen as “a professional statement-maker” on security matters because reassuring statements have not been matched with enough visible results.

The party called on Tinubu to prove through action that every Nigerian life is equally important.

It added, “Leadership is not measured by how quickly government celebrates a rescue; it is measured by whether no Nigerian is left behind or forgotten.”
