AFCON: Super Eagles Defeat Tunisia to Qualify for Round of 16

Nigeria defeated Uganda 3–1 in their final Group C fixture at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations on Tuesday evening.

The Super Eagles came into the match already assured of their place in the Round of 16. However, Eric Chelle’s men needed to avoid defeat to ensure they finished as group winners.

Paul Onuachu put Nigeria in the lead in the first half, finishing off a low cross from Fikayo Dele-Bashiru.

A quick-fire brace from Raphael Onyedika strengthened the Eagles’ grip on the game, before Uganda pulled one back through Robert Mato.

The other match between Tanzania and Tunisia ended 1–1, meaning the Carthage Eagles finished as runners-up with four points.
