Nigeria advanced for the last 16 of the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after defeating Tunisia 3-2 on Saturday night.

The Super Eagles began their competition with a 2-1 victory over Tanzania on Tuesday.

And they came into this game knowing that three points against the Carthage Eagles would give them control of Group C.

The North Africans had smashed Uganda 3-1 in their first match and were also hoping to qualify.

But Victor Osimhen headed Nigeria into the lead before the break, before goals from Wilfred Ndidi and Ademola Lookman put Eric Chelle’s men in firm control.

Tunisia pulled one back through Montassar Talbi, before a late penalty was converted by Ali Al-Abdi.

The result means Nigeria have six points from two matches, while Tunisia remain second with three points.
