Afrinvest Rebrands Digital Platform to Boost Inclusive Wealth Creation

By Taiye Olayemi

Afrinvest has taken steps to widen access to wealth creation by rebranding its digital investment platform, Optimus by Afrinvest, to PlutusNeo by Afrinvest, as part of efforts to deepen its digital financial offerings.

The investment management firm disclosed this in a statement on Friday, noting that the move was aimed at building a more inclusive and integrated digital wealth ecosystem for Nigerians.

Afrinvest said the platform, launched in 2022, was designed to give individuals secure and convenient access to Afrinvest-managed investment products through a modern digital interface.

According to the firm, the platform has grown into a trusted channel for Nigerians seeking professionally managed investment solutions, drawing on Afrinvest’s more than 30 years of experience in the capital market.

It explained that the transition to PlutusNeo reflects the evolution of the platform and the firm’s ambition to support long-term wealth creation for a broader base of investors.

Afrinvest added that the rebrand also aligns the platform with wider digital initiatives within the Group, including plans to introduce payment and lending capabilities to better support users’ financial needs.

The firm clarified that despite the change in name, the platform’s user experience, governance framework, security standards and ownership structure remain unchanged.

Commenting on the rebrand, Managing Director of PlutusNeo by Afrinvest, Mr Ayodeji Ebo, said the new identity positions the platform for sustainable growth.

“Optimus represented an important phase in our digital investment journey. PlutusNeo builds on that progress, evolving the platform into one designed to support long-term wealth creation for a broader audience,” Ebo said.

He added that the platform reflects Afrinvest’s vision to develop a more connected digital ecosystem over time.

Also speaking, Group Managing Director of Afrinvest, Mr Ike Chioke, said the platform underscored the firm’s long-standing commitment to inclusive wealth creation.

“For over 30 years, Afrinvest has operated through multiple market cycles, and that experience shapes how we approach investing.

“We understand the importance of discipline and long-term thinking in wealth creation,” Chioke said.

According to him, PlutusNeo extends Afrinvest’s investment philosophy to a wider audience, enabling more people to participate meaningfully in wealth building regardless of income level or status.

Afrinvest said PlutusNeo allows users to save and invest with confidence, offering access to naira and dollar mutual funds, high-yield investment opportunities and United States stocks through a single digital platform.

The firm added that the platform is also being positioned to support additional financial services, including payments and lending, as part of its broader digital expansion strategy.
