Armed bandits, on Monday, attacked the Oyate community in the Oro-Ago Divisional area of the Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.

It was the second abortive attack in two weeks.

The armed bandits reportedly attacked the same community and disrupted Muslims’ last Friday prayer but were resisted by the local security personnel in the area.

The Monday attack also witnessed sporadic shootings by the bandits in the bid to scare people but was not successful.

Security sources disclosed that the armed bandits crossed over from neighbouring Kogi State which shares common boundaries with Kwara to carry out their attacks on towns and villages in the state.

The attacks have persisted despite the launch of ‘Operation Savannah Shield’ by the Nigerian Army to flush out criminals in the state.
